How do I know if a permit request has been generated?

When you lodge a job for Excavation purpose, within Road Reserve, in an area where the council is registered for PermitAccess, your summary screen will show an extra line on the Utility list showing the council/traffic authority with a status of "Permit Request Sent ^^":
